Rex Dean Ross

Rex Dean Ross, age 78 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at his home.
Born February 16, 1936 in Downing, Missouri, he was the son of Russell P. and Cleda Pearl (Goosey) Ross. On November 25, 1977 in Reno, Nevada he was united in marriage to Judith A. Hawkins who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Monti Ross and Cindy, Sean Herron and wife Renee, and Shane Ross and wife Shelly all of La Plata, Missouri; two daughters, Jodi Corrick and husband Eldon of La Plata, Missouri and Misti Herron and Sly of Columbia, Missouri; one sister, Judy Bono of Benton, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren, Staci Hanton, Courtney Ross, Marci Kimmel, Melanie Cook, Cassie Goodhart, Kera Bingham, Taylor Herron, Tanner Herron, Tara Mitchell, Bailey Mitchell, and Bryce Ross; several great grandchildren and one aunt, Irene Gosser of Queen City, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dea Ann McCarty; one sister, Joan Roush; and one brother, Ronald Ross.
Rex served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1964. He owned and operated Ross Auto Sales in La Plata, starting the business in 1964. He was a member of the La Plata Christian Church. Rex enjoyed cars and loved spending time with his family.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the La Plata Christian Church. Officiating will be Reverend Scott McNay. Music will be provided by Paul Milliken.
