Kathryn Mae Easley

Kathryn Mae Easley, age 95 of Rochester, Illinois and formerly of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Born January 1, 1919 in Edina, Missouri, she was the daughter of Lloyd Walla and Bertha Onola (Bowen) Chaney. On January 1, 1940 in La Plata, Missouri she married Willard Chadwell who preceded her in death on June 27, 1964. On August 22, 1970 in La Plata, Missouri she married Leland Easley who preceded her in death on May 13, 1990.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Delmar Chaney; and one step-son, Larry Easley.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Bonnie Chadwell of Clarence, Missouri and Charles and Nancy Chadwell of Springfield, Illinois; two step-sons, Garry Easley and Jerry Easley; one brother, Donald Chaney of Ft. Myers, Florida; five grandchildren, C.K. Chadwell, Gina Campbell, Mary Chadwell-Thompson, Chuck Chadwell, and Willard Chadwell; and fourteen great grandchildren.
Kathryn lived most of her life in the La Plata community before moving to Staunton, Illinois in 1990 to be near her family. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Staunton. She was very active in church activities and had been a member of many social clubs. Kathryn loved spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
