Carl Edwin Larson

Carl Edwin Larson, age 87 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
Born July 7, 1926, at the family farm near Ethel, Missouri, he was the son of Carl Gustav and Jennie A. (Anderson) Larson.
Surviving are two sisters, Myrtle Crippin of Marceline, Missouri and Joan Clark of Ethel, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Esther Turner, Margaret Larson, and Ruth Larson; one brother, Albert Larson; and nephews, Keith and Roger Turner.
Edwin attended rural school through the 8th grade and graduated in 1944 from Bucklin High School in Bucklin, Missouri.
He lived and worked on the family farm for most of his life, as well as working at various outside jobs: driving a Bucklin school bus; MFA in New Boston, Missouri; McGraw Edison in Macon, Missouri; and ConAgra Foods in Macon. He had lived in La Plata since 1996. Failing health required him to move into the La Plata Nursing Home in 2011.
He was a member and Elder Emeritus of the Ethel Presbyterian Church, Ethel, Missouri.
Edwin loved his pet dogs, cats, cars, pickup trucks, and farming.
As per his wishes his body will be cremated with no public service. A private family service and burial will be held later at Union Chapel Cemetery, New Boston, Missouri.
