Travis Funeral Chapel

Maxine Lock, age 89 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

Born December 27, 1923 in Atlanta, Missouri, the daughter of Harris H. and Gladys L. (Bloomberg) Baker. On January 1, 1945 in La Plata, Missouri she married Ervel E. Lock who preceded her in death on January 26, 1997.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Wyndell, Warren, and Wayne Baker; one half brother, Ervin Baker; and two half sisters, Amelia Roemer and Alma Belt.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Cheryl Lock of La Plata, Missouri; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Milton Sager of Stanberry, Missouri; five grandchildren, Nicole Fleak, Jaimee Wood, Drew Lock, Julie Neuhalfen, and Rob Sager; and eleven great grandchildren, Zachary and Andrew Fleak, Alexis and Kierstin Wood, Tate and Trace Lock, Madilyn and Collin Sager, Matthew, Luke, and Alexandria Neuhalfen.

Maxine was a 1941 graduate of Atlanta High School and later graduated from Gem City Business College in Quincy, Illinois. She was a member of Atalpal II and the Community Presbyterian Church in La Plata. Maxine enjoyed crocheting and cooking, and loved spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Community Presbyterian Church in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor Craig Dawson and the Reverend John Becker.

Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 18, 2013 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri.
