Mary Ruth Gilliland

Mary Ruth Gilliland, age 70 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the La Plata Nursing Home.
Born March 29, 1942 in La Plata, Missouri, she was the daughter of Samuel Kenneth and Ollie Elizabeth (Lene) Buck. On June 5, 1965 in La Plata she married Herbert H. Gilliland who survives.
Also surviving are two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Martha Buck of Mason City, Illinois and Larry and Thelma Buck of South Wilmington, Illinois; six nieces and nephews, eleven great nieces and nephews, eight great-great nieces and nephews; and two very special friends, Carolyn and Amanda Summers.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Mary Ruth lived most all of her life in La Plata. She was a graduate of La Plata High School and was a dedicated childcare provider for many years. Mary Ruth was a member of the La Plata Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the La Plata Baptist Church. Officiating will be Pastor David Gottman. Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Buck, Robert Buck, William Summers, Howard Magers, Kayne Buck, Keegan Buck, Houston Buck, and Hunter Buck.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the church with the family receiving friends from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
