Jimmie Wayne Davis

Jimmie Wayne Davis, age 57 of Hitchcock, Texas, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at his home. He had been in failing health.
Born August 1, 1954 in Kirksville, Missouri, he was the son of Olin “Tobe” and Deloris (Stafford) Davis.
Survivors include his mother, Deloris Davis of La Plata, Missouri; one son, John Michael Davis and friend Amanda of La Plata, Missouri; three daughters, Staci Mihalevich of Kirksville, Missouri, Brandi Lynn and Melanie Lynn Davis both of Hitchcock, Texas; one sister, Toby Peavler and husband Alvin of La Plata, Missouri; and six grandchildren, Justin, Augustus, and Harlie Mihalevich, Michaela, Angela, and Kindra Jo Davis.
Preceding him in death was his father.
Jimmie was a 1972 graduate of La Plata High School. He served in the United States Air Force. For the last several years he lived in the Houston, Texas area where he worked as a pipe fitter on many different oil rigs. Jimmie loved fishing and especially spending time with his children.
A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the La Plata Cemetery, La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor John Davison.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 26, 2012 with the family receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri.
