Louis Edwin Pyle, age 85 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

Born May 20, 1926 in Elmer, Missouri, he was the son of Truman and Ida (Pollock) Pyle. On September 24, 1947 in Henrietta, Missouri, he married Clara Louise “Connie” Nance who preceded him in death on September 17, 1998.

Also preceding him in death were his parents; two children, Donna Dale and Clifford Edwin; two brothers, Dean and Virgil Pyle; and one sister, Mae Malone.

Surviving is one son, Anthony L. Pyle of Hudson, Wisconsin; one daughter, Elaine Kriegshauser of Kirksville, Missouri; three brothers, Earl Pyle of Manhattan, Kansas, Harold Pyle of Richmond, Missouri, and Larry Pyle of Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, June Borden of Elma, Washington and Thelma Daniels of the state of California; four grandchildren, Trisha Cowan, Toni Elaine Grubbs, Jeremy Redmon, and Jason Redmon; and four great grandchildren, Carson Redmon, Caitlin Redmon, Tatum Redmon, and Josiah Grubbs.

Louie received his education at Elmer High School. He served in the United States Navy during W.W. II and the Korean War. He had been employed by the Sante Fe Railroad for more than forty years. Louie was a member of the La Plata Masonic Lodge, La Plata American Legion and La Plata Lions Club. Louie was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Graveside services, under the direction of Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the Elmer Cemetery in Elmer, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastors Goldie Platte and John Bowen. Pallbearers will be Earl Pyle, Larry Pyle, Mike Pyle, Jason Redmon, Jeremy Redmon, and Carson Redmon.
