Jessie Marie Wood, age 98 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Monday, September 19, 2011 at the La Plata Nursing.
Born September 11, 1913 in Yarrow, Missouri, she was the daughter of Benjamin Taylor and Leota Maude Wood.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Claude Lavern and Cecil Edward Wood; and two sisters, Juanita Pearl Barrett and May Perkins.
Surviving are three nieces, two nephews, many great and great-great nieces and nephews, and one sister-in-law, Leola Schneider of La Plata, Missouri.
Jessie was a lifelong animal lover who raised chickens for Biggs Hatchery, and dogs in her kennel for many years. She loved to garden and spoil her nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2011 in La Plata Cemetery. Officiating will be the Reverend Stan East.
Services are under the direction of Travis Funeral Chapel, La Plata, Missouri.
