Arthur Thomas "Junior" Green

Arthur “Junior Thomas Green, age 86 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2011 at his home.
Born March 18, 1925 in La Plata, Missouri, he was the son of Arthur Lewis and Edna Irwin (Burch) Green. On April 30, 1950 in La Plata he married Betty Jean McCampbell who preceded him in death on May 23, 2007.
Also preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Van Green.
Surviving are six sons, David Johnson of Moultrie, Georgia, John Green and wife Marilyn of La Plata, Darrell Green of La Plata, Gerry Green and wife Vicky of Ozark, Missouri, Kerry Green of La Plata, and Stuart Green of Palmyra, Missouri; two daughters, Carol Osmond and husband Austin of New Sharon, Iowa and Judy Williams and husband Greg of La Plata; one brother, Eddie Green and wife Carol of Macon, Missouri; one sister, Norma Miller of La Plata; fifteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one niece and three nephews.
Junior was a 1943 graduate of La Plata High School. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. Junior owned and operated Green’s Garage in La Plata for many years. He was a member of the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge both of La Plata, and had been a member of the El Kadir Shrine of Kirksville, Missouri. Junior was also a member of the La Plata United Methodist Church.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the La Plata United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Reverend Denzil Thomas.
The family will receive friends following services at the church.
