Marilyn M. Beecher

Marilyn M. Beecher, age 92 of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 21, 2011 at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
Born December 11, 1918 in Carrollton, Missouri, she was the daughter of Uley T. and Lydia C. (Hamblen) Benjamin who precedes her in death.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Dr. Edgar Benjamin and John Benjamin; and one nephew, Dr. Milton Lowrey.
Memorials in memory of Marilyn M. Beecher may be made to the La Plata Baptist Church, and may be left at or mailed to Travis Funeral Chapel, 125 S. Church St., La Plata, Missouri 63549.
Surviving are three sisters, Margaret Lowrey, Cathern Dawdy, and Arlene Owen; one nephew, Leslie Dawdy; and one niece, Laura.
Marilyn was a 1938 graduate of La Plata High School, graduating third in her class. She lived most all of her life in La Plata, Missouri where she was a member of La Plata Baptist Church. Marilyn did beautiful handwork and won many ribbons at the Kirksville fair.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the La Plata Cemetery in La Plata.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 24, 2011 with the family receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel, La Plata, Missouri.
