William Curtis "Bill" Dausman
March 26, 1919 - December 19, 2011
William “Bill” Curtis Dausman, age 92 of Atlanta, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at the La Plata Nursing Home in La Plata, Missouri.
Born March 26, 1919 in Mayfield, Kentucky, he was the son of Arthur and Ruth (Streeby) Dausman. On May 14, 1998 in Kentucky he married Wanda Haney who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Paul Dausman of McHenry, Illinois and Bill Dausman of Eustis, Florida; one step-son, Nathan Duggins of Elmer, Missouri; three daughters, Mary Dausman of McHenry, Illinois, Karen Taminger of McHenry, Illinois and Leslie Costello of Union City, Tennessee; four step-daughters, Marie Gregg of Anchorage, Alaska, Lois Jean Knight of Colfax, Louisiana, Annie Yeager of Denver, Colorado and Penny Lindley Rice of Atlanta, Missouri; one brother, Bob Dausman of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; one sister, Susie Thompson of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Bill served in the United States Army during W.W. II. He was a heavy equipment operator and later raised cattle on his farm near Novelty, Missouri. He moved to Atlanta in 2009. Bill was an active member of Local 150 of the Operating Engineers of Joliet, Illinois.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2011 at Travis Funeral Chapel, La Plata, Missouri.
Burial with full military honors will be in the Elmer Cemetery in Elmer, Missouri.
Visitation will be Friday, December 23, 2011 with the family receiving friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel, La Plata, Missouri.
