Bulafern Gordan

Bulafern Gordon, age 95 of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
Born October 15, 1915 in rural Adair County, Missouri, she was the daughter of Byron and Mary Ann (Watkins) Burton. On December 24, 1948 in La Plata, Missouri she married Ernest Gordon who preceded her in death in 1962.
Also preceding in death were her parents; two brothers, Harold and Stanley Burton; and one sister, Juanita Wood.
Survivors include one sister, Beverly Blodgett of Kirksville, Missouri; four nephews, Rex Wood of Las Vegas, Nevada, Max Wood of Brentwood, Missouri, Bill Burton of Cassville, Missouri, and Gary Burton of Monett, Missouri; two nieces, Darlene Van Keuren of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and Janice Benson of Morris, Illinois; and many other special great and great great nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bulafern was a 1933 graduate of La Plata High School. She lived most all of her life in the La Plata and Kirksville communities where she was employed at Tansil-Grantges in La Plata and La Vogue Dress Store in Kirksville until her retirement. Bulafern was a member of the La Plata Community Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidering.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be the Reverend John Becker.
Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 12, 2011 with the family receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri.
