Travis Funeral Chapel

Loreta Grace McCully, age 90 of Macon, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the Macon Health Care Center in Macon, Missouri.

Born June 9, 1920 in Elmer, Missouri, she was the daughter of Robert T. and Gracie (Palmerton) Williams. On November 29, 1940 in Elmer, Missouri, she married Joe M. McCully who preceded her in death on January 13, 1997.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; one daughter, Marion Ruth McCully; three brothers, Keith, Clarence, and Harry Williams; two sisters, Clara Davenport and Nellie Gilliland; and one grandson, Matthew Merrill.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin Gail and Diann McCully of Longview, Washington and Elmer “Mac” and Nancy McCully of La Plata, Missouri; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and John Lucki of Chandler, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Glenn and Craig McCully, Michele Merrill, Karen, Angela, Jerrod, and Daniel McCully; four great grandchildren, Zackary Merrill, Hannah McCully, Olivia McCully, and Rebecca Van Meter; and several nieces and nephews.

Loreta was a 1938 graduate of the Elmer High School. She taught briefly in the Macon County rural schools. In 1977 she moved to Macon from Atlanta, Missouri. Loreta was employed for several years at the Macon High School, working in the cafeteria. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Macon, Missouri. Loreta enjoyed quilting and especially spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Macon.

Burial will be in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery east of Atlanta, Missouri.

Visitation will be Friday, September 17, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Macon with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Services are under the direction of Travis Funeral Chapel, La Plata, Missouri.
