Troy Lee Cook, age 43 of Elmer, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at his home.
Born October 11, 1966 in Quincy, Illinois, he was the son of Herbert Thomas and Zelma Oreva (Stewart) Cook. On December 4, 1988 in La Plata, Missouri, he married Angie Baker who survives.
Also surviving is his mother Zelma Cook of Gifford, Missouri; three daughters, Courtney Ballew of La Plata, Allyson Cook of La Plata, and Haley Cook of Elmer; five sisters, Patty Purvis and husband Terry of Kellogg, Iowa, Fran Tipton and husband Larry of Elmer, Debbie Broadus of La Plata, Lori Ross and husband Chris of Bevier, and Lisa Shultz of La Plata; six brothers, Tom Cook of Gifford, Kenny Cook of La Plata, David Cook of Kirksville, Daniel Cook and wife Kathy of Gifford, John Cook and wife Barb of Unionville, and David Baker of Elmer; one granddaughter, Lily Bugh of La Plata; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his father and one sister, Peggy Ann Swann.
Troy lived most of his life in the La Plata area. He had been employed by the City of La Plata for 13 years. Troy enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding horses, gardening, arrowhead hunting, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Elmer Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010 at the Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata. Officiating will be Pastor Russell Lasley.
Burial will be in the Canaday Cemetery, northwest of La Plata. Pallbearers will be his brothers.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 7, 2010 with the family receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata.
