George G. Rodriquez

George G. Rodriquez, age 67 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at his home.
Born July 12, 1943 in Fort Davis, Texas, he was the son of George and Maggie (Granado) Rodriquez. On February 2, 1978 in La Plata, Missouri he married Roma D. Wilson who survives.
Also surviving are three step-sons and their wives, Glenn and Karen Wood, Gene and Judy Wood, and Jerry Lee and Penny Wood, all of La Plata, Missouri; four step-daughters and their husbands, Charla and Tom Cupp, Tamera and Kenny Wright, Betty and Jimmy Moore, and Mishel and John Beever, all of La Plata, Missouri; one brother, Edward “Lalo” Rodriquez of Odessa, Texas; three sisters, Alicia Morales of Marfa, Texas, Mary Ann Lara of Wink, Texas and Teresa Salaido of Monahan, Texas; twelve step-grandchildren and twenty-three step-great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers.
While living in Fort Davis, Texas, George was a heavy equipment operator building roads. In 1970 he moved to La Plata where he worked for Southview Foods in Macon, Missouri, the City of La Plata, La Plata Cemetery, and local construction. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be the Reverend John Becker.
Inurnment will be at a later date.
