Jean Marilyn Lewis

Jean Marilyn Lewis, age 82 of LaPlata, Missouri, passed away Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
Born June 17, 1927 in Stillwell, Kansas, she was the daughter of Harvey Huber and Mabel (Bachman) Gochnauer who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was one brother John.
Jean was united in marriage to Gene Lewis. Surviving are three sons, Rick Lewis of Santa Rosa, California, Randy Lewis and wife Marsha of Naples, Florida, and Kevin Lewis of Bloomington, Illinois; two daughters, Kathy Rogers and husband Dewayne of LaPlata, Missouri and Julie Lewis of LaPlata, Missouri; two brothers, Pat Gochnauer of Mohave, California and Mike Gochnauer of Bevier, Missouri; one sister Peggy Sharp of Novinger, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Jean lived in LaPlata for many years. She was employed by Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri as a secretary to the Upward Bound Program for twenty years, and later by Co-op in LaPlata, Missouri. Jean was an active member of the Homeliners Extension Club and the LaPlata Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the LaPlata Baptist Church in LaPlata, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor Elmer “Mac” McCully.
Burial will be in the Cox Cemetery near Novinger, Missouri. Pallbearers will be Todd Morton, Kiel Morton, Colt Lewis, Blake Rogers, Jerry Wood, and Mike Higgins. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Couch, Brock Baker, Ralph Steele, Tony Morton, Joe Breuklander, and Bill Loe.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 27, 2010 with the family receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the LaPlata Baptist Church.
