Leland Edward Shouse
March 1, 1914 - February 21, 2010
Leland E. Shouse, age 95, of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010 at the Samaritan Memorial Hospital in Macon, Missouri.
Born March 1, 1914 in La Plata, Missouri, he was the son of Zack and Janette (Hutchens) Shouse. On June 2, 1935 in Brashear, Missouri he married Alice Louise Lockett who preceded him in death on November 18, 2007.
Also preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, Margaret Bledsoe, Isadore Young, and one in infancy; and three brothers, Lloyd, Merrill, and Marion Shouse.
Surviving is one son, William "Bill" Shouse and wife Judy of La Plata, Missouri; one daughter, Shirley Ann Plunk and husband, Clifford of Quincy, Illinois; four grandchildren, Terrie Smith, Brad Dickson, Randy Shouse, and Chuck Shouse; six great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
Lee farmed for many years in the Wilsontown community before moving to La Plata in 1978. He was a member of the La Plata Lions Club, La Plata Masonic Lodge, and the La Plata Baptist Church.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the La Plata Baptist Church. Pastor Elmer "Mac" McCully officiated.
Burial was in the La Plata Cemetery.
Memorials were made to Wilsontown Cemetery Fund.
