Lilburn Alvin Spindler

Lilburn Alvin Spindler, age 70 of High Point, North Carolina, passed away on December 28, 2012.
Born November 14, 1942 in Kirksville, Missouri, he was the son of Lilburn and Anabel Spindler. He married Carolyn Beth Hertzler.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother George Spindler.
Surviving are two children, Saxon D. Spindler of the home and Ashley J. Spindler of Columbia, Missouri; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Gary Redmon of Brookfield, Missouri; Carolyn Spindler Kahn and husband Chuck of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Ann (Hertzler) Bullock and husband Bill of La Plata, Missouri; and longtime friend, Lise Bergeron of High Point, North Carolina.
Al graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1964. He moved to Sunnyvale, California where he began a 36 year career with Western Electric, AT&T Technologies, and Alcatel-Lucent. He relocated to Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1967. Al worked on government contracts aboard ship involving extensive travel internationally.
Because of Al’s wit and wisdom, strong character and personality, forever memorable of family and friends.
Interment was 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 on the family plot in the La Plata Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point, North Carolina.
