Delbert Ray Biswell

Delbert Ray Biswell, age 75 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Born December 30, 1941 in Cuba, Illinois, the son of Coats and Mildred Maxine (Southwood) Biswell. On December 27, 1960 in Palmyra, Missouri he was united in marriage to Laura Thomason who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia and Hershel Williams of Bevier, Missouri and Donita Kay and Kent Cavender of Callao, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Anita Cavender, Kenda Holbrook, Derek Wertz, Alisha Tilinski, Sydney Wertz, Dylan Wertz, and Tawna Cavender; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, one sister, and four half-brothers preceded him in death.
Delbert was a 1960 graduate of Manito High School. He worked in law enforcement for several years. He was a member of the Elmer Assembly of God Church in Elmer, Missouri. Delbert enjoyed doing taxidermy work and loved spending time with his family.
A memorial services will be 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Birdsong.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial services with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel.
