Leroy Edwin Theodore Roewe, 81, of Novelty, Missouri passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018 at his home.

Leroy was born January 15, 1937 in Warrenton, Missouri the son of Edwin and Reka (Bueker) Roewe . On May 23, 1981 in Columbia, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Jane (French) Roewe , who survives.

Leroy is also survived by two sons, Austin Roewe and wife Nicki of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Steven Nelson and wife Dana of Kirksville, Missouri; three daughters, Charlette Heyer and husband Mark of Columbia, Missouri, Cherie Roewe of Aurora, Illinois, and Cristina Nelson of Columbia, Missouri; one brother, Melvin Roewe and wife Helen of New Haven, Missouri; one sister Arlene Pettig of Macon, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; one great grandchild on the way, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Gladys Corder and Darlene Wilmsmeyer.

Leroy was a graduate of the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s of science degree in Business Administration majoring in accounting with a minor in Agriculture. He moved to the Novelty area from Columbia, Missouri, in 1997. Leroy worked hard all of his life as a farmer and business owner. He was a loving and honest man with a great sense of humor. Leroy loved spending time with his family and enjoyed playing cards.

A public visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Visitation will also be held 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton, Missouri. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at Friedens United Church of Christ in Warrenton, Missouri with Pastor Steven Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Lippstadt Cemetery in Warrenton, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Leroy’s honor to the Lippstadt Cemetery. Contributions may be sent to or left at Travis Funeral Chapel, 125 S. Church St., La Plata, MO 63549.
