Ronald Dean Poteet

Ronald Dean Poteet, age 78 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the La Plata Nursing Home.
Born May 6, 1937 near Macon, Missouri, he was the son of Jesse T. and Joanna N. (Miles) Poteet. On January 1, 1958 in La Plata, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Wyananda “Jean” Graham who survives.
Also surviving is one brother, Paul Poteet and wife Sharon of Macon, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Herschel, Tom, Maurice and Donald Poteet.
Ron was a 1956 graduate of Macon High School. He was employed for many years at A.T. Still University. He was a volunteer EMT for the Macon County Ambulance District and the La Plata Volunteer Fire Department. Ron had also served on the board of directors of the La Plata Community Fire District and the Missouri State Fire Fighters Association.
A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015 in the La Plata Cemetery.
At his request Ron has been cremated and there will be no visitation.
