Floyd Arthur Kellam, age 80, of Kirksville, Missouri passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri. Born November 30, 1933 in Elmer, Missouri, he was the son of Fred and Jennie (Shoop) Kellam. On April 15, 1992 in La Plata, Missouri he married Zelma Beall who preceded him in death on April 29, 2011. He married Hannah Mason on January 3, 2014 in Kirksville, Missouri who survives.

Also surviving are three step-sons, Lloyd Demory, of La Plata, Jim Demory of Springfield, Missouri and Terry Findling and wife Laurie of Kirksville, Missouri; two step-daughters; Darla English and husband Ivan, of Moline, Illinois, and Cathi Findling of Kirksville; one sister Dorothy Burton and husband Robert of Macon, Missouri; four nieces Evelyn Smith, Betty Cook, Cinda Burton, and Charlotte Moore; several great nieces and nephews; and several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one half-brother Jacob Demory and two half-sisters Hazel Falkner, and Opal Dennis and husband Everett, who took Floyd into there home at an early age.

Floyd was a 1949 graduate of Elmer High School and later graduated from Kirksville State Teachers College. He served in the United States Army. Floyd was a teacher in the Elmer School, Adair Rural School and in Maquoketa, Iowa where he retired from in 1994. He lived in La Plata until moving to Kirksville earlier this year. Floyd was a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2014 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata. Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 22, 2014 with the family receiving friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel.
