Ruth Arlene Peavler

Ruth Arlene Peavler, age 82 of Elmer, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the Macon Health Care Center in Macon, Missouri.
Born September 18, 1930 in Elmer, Missouri, she was the daughter of William Earl and Goldie Evelyn (Lagel) Koger. In 1947 she married Elba Peavler who preceded her in death on June 26, 2003.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; one grandson, Eldon Huff; two brothers, Theodore Koger and Paul Koger; and two sisters, Maxine Huffman and Vera Peavler.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Kim Peavler of Bevier, Missouri, Rodney and Beverly Peavler of Atlanta, Missouri, and Ed and Debby Peavler of Elmer, Missouri; three daughters, Angela Huff, Evelyn Hodges, and Kelly Smith all of Kirksville, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Arlene lived most all of her life in the Elmer area. She had been employed for more than 25 years at the Florsheim Shoe Factory in Kirksville, Missouri before her retirement.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Brother Richard Castle. Burial will be in the Bell Cemetery near Elmer, Missouri.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 24, 2013 with the family receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel.
