Juanita L. McCarty

Juanita L. McCarty, age 94 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 6, 2012 at the La Plata Nursing Home.
Born June 18, 1917 in Novelty, Missouri, she was the daughter of Elmer W. and Ethel L. (Robb) McConnell. On December 23, 1935 in Brashear, Missouri, she married Roy L. McCarty who preceded her in death on November 15, 1996.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, one daughter, Dea Ann McCarty and one sister, Bernice Frazee.
Surviving is one daughter and son-in-law, Doneta and Richard Harden of La Plata, Missouri; six grandchildren, Rich Harden, Denny Harden, Traci Redmon, Monti Ross, Shane Ross, and Jodi Bingham; fifteen great grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren, and one niece, Beth Primm of Novelty, Missouri.
Juanita moved to La Plata from Knox County in 1948. She was a member of the La Plata Christian Church.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2012 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Burial will be in the Locust Hill Cemetery, near Novelty, Missouri.
Visitation will be Monday, January 9, 2012 with the family receiving friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Travis Funeral Chapel, 125 S. Church St., La Plata, Missouri.
